PAGOSA VALOR ACADEMY
The idea of starting a Biblically based school using the National Association of University Model Schools (NAUMS) Model started in the summer of 2013.   After much prayer and inspiration from God, a board was formed and requirements to open the school were all met.  PVA opened its doors on Sept. 6, 2014 to K-6 with three teachers and one head administrator. The following year, 2015/16, we almost doubled our student base and expanded our grades to K-8.  We currently offer classes for kindergarten through 12th grade and are are certified through UMSI and accredited by Cognia.

Why Choose Us?

HIgh Parent Involvement

We believe that parents are the key influence in their children’s lives. We desire that parents remain influential in their child’s development during the formative years.

Spiritual & Character Development

Christian principles and influence are intertwined in everything we do. A desire for a healthy Christian world view that transcends the classroom into all aspects of children’s lives.

Small Class Sizes

Small class sizes allow for more personal attention from teachers.  It also provides a place for meaningful friendships with other students and families to form.

Community Learning Opportunities

PVA partners with Archuleta School District to offer our students opportunities to enroll in the Pagosa Family School program and Pagosas Spring High School individual classes

Pagosa Valor Academy aims to encourage academic excellence in our students with a Biblical Worldview by maintaining a strong level of family involvement through the blend of the best of traditional education with the best of home education, to prepare tomorrow’s Christ-centered servant-leaders today.

Pagosa Valor Academy does not promote or endorse any particular denomination.  Our desire to maintain this position is for the purpose of unity and fairness to each student.  Other doctrinal issues upon which Pagosa Valor Academy has no official stance will be considered secondary doctrine and will not be taught.  In the event secondary doctrine is brought up, students will be referred back to the family for final authority.  We desire to remain united in the salvation and love of Christ, avoiding any dissension that may be caused by denominational distinctions.

Pagosa Valor Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, or other school-administered programs. We recognize that there can be no preferential treatment with God.
